1. Introducing Blended Teaching Textbooks
Blended Teaching provides customizable digital textbooks that embed directly in Canvas or Blackboard. Instructors install the textbooks ahead, or at the start, of the semester.
Students can purchase access for their Blended Teaching textbook in the following three ways:
Directly from Blended Teaching through their course Canvas or Blackboard page using a credit card.
Using a voucher code purchased through the Bookstore.
Using a voucher code purchased through inclusive access programs.
2. Access Codes
2.1. Access Codes Are Redeemed Once
Each access code is unique. Students purchase a unique access code from the bookstore to use in place of payment when signing up for the course textbook through our system. After a code has been redeemed, it cannot be redeemed again.
2.2. Access Codes Are Specific to a Course / Textbook
Blended Teaching textbooks are unique to a course. Each textbook has it's own price that may be different from others. This means, in a semester when there may be 1-10 Blended Teaching textbooks live at the university, they will each have their own set of access codes.
This makes allocating access voucher codes to the appropriate class important for bookstores.
Please note - each textbook has a unique price. Access codes for one textbook may not be usable with another Blended Teaching textbook.
3. Pricing & Bookstore Discount
When students purchase access through Blended Teaching, or through an Inclusive Access provider such as VitalSource, students pay the same price. The price is agreed in advance between Blended Teaching and the instructors / department based on volume, as follows:

We recognize that Bookstores have overheads, and often need to markup the price of the textbooks that they sell in order to stay in business and make a profit. We therefore sell the access codes to bookstores at a 20% discount to the agreed price with the instructor / department.
In return, we ask that the Bookstore sells the access codes to students at no more than the price we are intending for the student to pay.
When you order access codes from us, a 20% discount will be applied to the price students would pay for the codes.
4. Ordering Access Codes
To order voucher codes for a specific course textbook, please use this link to the Access Code Order Form.
We have an automated ordering process, and therefore we can only take orders for access codes through the order form, we cannot take orders via email or phone.
Once you have submitted your order, we run it through a quick check and if all is good, we send you the voucher codes immediately via email.
The way the system works is:
Start by buying the codes you think you will need for this upcoming semester.
You will be charged for this number via invoice.
If you have surplus codes remaining at the end of the semester, just get in touch on [email protected]. We will refund you and cancel the surplus codes.
Please remember the following when ordering:
The order form relates to one textbook / course at a time. If you would like to order codes for multiple courses, please submit multiple times.
Once you've submitted your order, we will send you the codes via email.
We will also send an invoice to the details you provide. Payment is due within 30 days from the date of order.
If there is an overdue payment from your bookstore, the automated system will not provide codes until this has been settled.
5. Using Access Codes
Students use their access voucher code when they start using Blended Teaching materials in their class. when they click on Blended Teaching materials for the first time in Canvas or Blackboard, they will be taken to a paywall, where they can use their Access Code, as shown below.
Each code is unique, and can only be redeemed once.
6. FAQ
How quickly can you send codes?
we can send codes within 5 minutes of an order is placed, if the details are correct. Please remember to fill out the form once per course. So if you are buying access codes to accompany multiple courses, please fill it out multiple times.
A students is getting an error when they use they're code. Why?
The most common cause of this issue is that another student has already used the code. This may be because it was accidentally issued by the bookstore to multiple students.
I can't order codes. Why?
If you have an overdue invoice that remains unpaid, our system will no longer generate codes. To system will immediately generate more codes once the overdue amount is paid.
Can I have a different discount?
We provide all of our Bookstore partners with a 20% discount, without exception.
