What systems does Blended Teaching work on?

We support most systems and most browsers, but sometimes they need updating.

Updated over 3 months ago

Blended Teaching works on most devices and browsers. It's not designed to work specifically on mobile devices or tablets, but often does without issue.

1. Devices

Blended teaching is designed to be used on laptops and desktops. As you can see, a significant number of users engage with content through their phone whilst on the move. A very small number use tablets, because it often does not work.

  • 91% use laptops, 8% use phones, 1% use tablets

Blended Teaching works on all forms of mobile devices and tablets.

Note: You cannot access Blended Teaching using the Canvas App on IPhone or IPad. To access Blended Teaching on IPhone or IPad, open your browser (e.g. Safari or Chrome), and access canvas via the website. This will allow you to use Blended Teaching materials.

2. Browers

Blended Teaching works on all major operating systems and browers for laptops and phones.

  • 62% use Chrome, 14% Edge, 14% Safari, 8% Mobile Safari, 1% Firefox

Just FYI - we recommend using Google Chrome for the best experience with Blended Teaching, Canvas, Blackboard and proctoring services like Respondus and Honorlock.

3. Toubleshooting

3a. Updating Browsers

There may be some scenarios where your browser isn't compatible. The most likely cause is that your browser is not up to date. Here are instructions for the most commonly used browsers:

3b. Canvas App

Blended Teaching cannot be used through the Canvas App on mobile devices. If you are trying to use Blended Teaching content through the Canvas App, it will not work.

Instead, Blended Teaching will work on your mobile device or tablet if you access the Canvas website through your mobile browser.

3c. IPad Issues

It does work on all IPads, as long as you access Blended Teaching through a browser and not through the Canvas App. See above.
